Direct orders
Direct online ordering for fixed-price bakery products
When the price is already known, the customer should be able to order. Direct order lets someone choose the product, quantity, fulfilment, and payment method, then confirm without waiting for you to prepare a quote. No app and no customer account.
- Sell fixed-price products directly from the link in your bio.
- Let the customer choose pickup or delivery and an enabled payment method.
- Confirm the order without a seller approval or quote step.
- Keep Direct orders and Custom requests together in one shop and inbox.
Try a shop with both sales flows
Open a Direct order product to see the quick path, then open the Custom request product to see why variable work gets a separate flow. This is a live Confita storefront with example data.
Make the buying path obvious from the product card
A fixed-price cupcake box can say Direct order. A custom celebration cake can say Custom request. Both belong in the same shop, but the label tells the customer what happens next.
Use Direct order only when the listed price and available fulfilment choices are enough to accept the sale. If the brief changes the price or your ability to take the work, use Custom request instead.

Customer chooses fulfilment and payment before confirming
The direct checkout collects contact details, pickup or delivery choices, any checkout questions, and the enabled payment option. The customer reviews the fixed total before placing the order.
Checkout through your own connected Square or Stripe account stays on the provider’s hosted payment page. On that path, Confita never holds the funds or adds a fee, and you settle directly with your customer. Manual methods can show your instructions.

Direct order or Custom request?
Do not make every sale behave like the most complicated one.
Direct orders still respect your operating limits
Your availability, pickup schedule, delivery choices, product limits, and paused-shop state still apply. Direct does not mean uncontrolled. It means the customer can confirm when the product and schedule are genuinely available.
After the order is placed, it joins the same inbox as custom work. Move it through confirmed, preparing, ready, and delivered, then see the accepted payment in Sales analytics.
Questions, answered
What bakers ask about direct orders
What is a Direct order in Confita?
It is a fixed-price sale the customer can confirm after choosing fulfilment and payment. The seller does not need to approve the request or send a quote first.
Do customers need an app or account?
No. The shop and checkout open in the browser, and customers can place an order without installing an app or creating a Confita account.
Can I use Direct order and Custom request together?
Yes. Use Direct order for products such as fixed-price boxes and Custom request for work such as celebration cakes where the brief changes the price.
Does Confita take a cut of Direct orders?
Not on your own Stripe or Square account: the money goes straight to you and Confita charges only the subscription. Pro costs US$49/year or US$9.99/month. Square or Stripe processing fees still apply to card payments. Confita Payments, the built-in option in the US and Canada, costs 3.9% + 30¢ per card payment with card processing included.
